Brytend Gas cylinder tracking

Gas cylinder tracking software that uses the oldest bottle first.

Every calibration gas bottle, regulator and other service object with its lot number, expiry date, remaining content and place. Engineers get the bottle that expires first, and you see what to buy before you run out.

What is gas cylinder tracking?

Gas cylinder tracking means knowing for every gas bottle where it is, who has it, which lot it comes from, when it expires and how much gas is left. Companies that calibrate and bump test gas detectors use calibration gas every day; an expired or empty bottle means a failed calibration or a wasted trip. Brytend tracks each bottle as a service object and books its use on the service where it was used.

Gas cylinder tracking is one part of Brytend, the business operations platform that replaces multiple disconnected business systems with one fully integrated platform: CRM, Assets, Rentals, Quality, Service, Compliance, Documents, Reporting and AI.

Know what to buy before you run out

The asset forecast looks at the services of the last 12 months, the installed detectors and the gas used per service, and shows the predicted shortage and a suggested purchase per type, with how sure it is and why.

The problem

What goes wrong without gas cylinder tracking software

01

Expired gas on the shelf

A new bottle gets opened while an older one expires unused. Every expired bottle is money thrown away.

02

Nobody knows what is in the van

Bottles move between the warehouse and service vans. When a customer calls, nobody knows which van has the right gas.

03

Calibrations with the wrong bottle

A service report does not say which lot was used, so after a complaint nobody can tell which detectors were calibrated with it.

How Brytend solves it

Every bottle, its lot and its history

Receive bottles once, by lot, with their expiry date. From then on Brytend knows where each bottle is, who has it, how much is left and on which services it was used.

  • First expire, first out: the list starts with the bottle that expires first
  • Remaining content goes down with every service, learned from real use
  • Warehouse or service van, with “My pick-up locations” for engineers
  • Hazard level and equipment authorization: only trained staff take dangerous gas

Features

Gas cylinder tracking features

Lots and expiry dates

Each bottle has its lot number and expiry date; expiring and expired bottles are flagged in the list and on the dashboard.

First expire, first out

Engineers pick from a list sorted by expiry date, so the oldest gas is used first.

Remaining content

Use per service is booked on the bottle and Brytend learns the real use per type, so “low content” warnings are right.

Used on the service report

The bottle and lot are recorded on the service, so you can trace every calibration back to the gas that was used.

Equipment authorization

Link object types or products to training qualifications; warn or block users who are not trained, with a logged override.

Incidents

Report a leak, a damaged valve or a wrong concentration. Each incident gets a support ticket and closes with it.

Asset forecast

Predicted demand, available bottles and suggested purchases per type for the next month, quarter or year.

Hoarding warnings

See when bottles pile up with one engineer or in one van while others run short.

Mobile app

Receive bottles, pick them in the service form and report incidents from the Brytend app.

How it works

Get started in three steps

Set up types

Create your object types, such as calibration gas 4-gas mix 58L, with content, hazard level and who may use them.

Receive bottles

Receive bottles by lot with their expiry date, into a warehouse or straight into a van.

Use and follow

Engineers take the bottle that expires first; content, place and history update with every service.

Why Brytend

More than gas cylinder tracking software

Part of service

Bottles are used on the same service reports as your detectors in Service and inspections.

Linked to stock

Bottle types are products in Stock, so purchases and stock levels stay in one place.

Gas testing on site

Measurements and gas-free certificates run in Gas testing, on the same platform.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

What is gas cylinder tracking software?

Software that records every gas cylinder with its lot number, expiry date, remaining content, place and history. Brytend does this for calibration gas bottles, regulators and other objects your engineers take to a service.

What does FEFO mean?

First expire, first out: you always use the bottle that expires first. Brytend sorts the bottles by expiry date so engineers pick the oldest gas first and fewer bottles expire unused.

How does Brytend know how much gas is left in a bottle?

Each service books the gas used on the bottle. Brytend starts from the use per service you set on the type and learns the real use from your services, so the remaining content gets more accurate over time.

Can I trace which detectors were calibrated with a certain lot?

Yes. The bottle and its lot number are stored on each service, so you can find every service where that lot was used.

Can I stop untrained staff from using dangerous gas?

Yes. Equipment authorization links object types or products to training qualifications and warns or blocks users who do not have them. An override is logged.

Does it work on a phone?

Yes. Engineers receive bottles, pick them in the service form and report incidents in the Brytend app on iOS and Android.

How does the free trial work?

You use the full Brytend platform free for 90 days. Take the tour first, or start the trial straight away.
